Boucher Associates
Boucher Associates are Chartered Surveyors and Design Consultants based in Berkshire. Their client SMC Cars, who have many branches in the south east, were relocating to new premises in Hayes.
Gallagher’s were contacted to provide a flooring solution for both the old premises which were to be handed back to the landlord, and the new premises which required a tailored workshop floor finish.
The new premises had previously been light industrial use, we provided a total package including detailed survey and quotation with various options tailored to guarantee. As with all moves, time becomes critical. As the lease runs out on one building, pressure is on to move into the new one but with the minimum of disruption. Gallagher’s assist in this by being very flexible in how the contract is completed.
For this customer it made sense to prepare, repair and apply primer and a high build coating systems over the floor prior to any installation of ramps and brake testers. This ensured that the floor was fully prepared and protected prior to installation. At a later visit, minor repairs were completed again and a further top coat of high build epoxy resin coating system was installed. M.O.T VOSA standard black and yellow chevrons, fire points and bay markings were installed ready for launch date.
Following the move, Boucher Associates had to arrange for the old premises to be handed back to the landlord in an agreed condition. Obviously the building did not require the same high quality floor specification for speculative letting. We installed a very economical solution, which was a single pack alkyd resin floor paint that solved the dilapidation problems.
